Full Review

There are no tours being offered currently at the Dixie Brewing Company but, if you find yourself in New Orleans, Louisiana, just take a stroll by their building.  It's a lovely piece of old Southern architecture and looks as if it was designed for an old MGM movie.  Plus, maybe someone will have left a side door open and you can slip in unnoticed for a quick self-tour!

The Dixie Brewing Company is a microbrewery that makes many fine and high quality beers.  It has an annual turnout of over 250,000 barrels and the names they have chosen for some of their products are legendary Louisiana: what would you think about drinking a beer named Blackened Voodoo Lager??  This is a tasty dark beer that goes great with crawdads and rice.  Or just as a cooling drink after those pesky bar fights.

Or how about sampling their Crimson Voodoo Ale?  A somewhat lighter beer but still it has a full bodied flavor.  And, of course, they produce the famed Dixie Holy Smoke, known to the best roadhouses and paper bag clubs in the South.  I'm guilty of having had a few too many Dixie beers in my time but, believe me when I say, they were certainly worth the headache I had the next morning.

At 2401 Tulane Avenue in New Orleans, The Dixie Brewing Company is still producing great beer.  For further information, you may phone 504-822-8711 or fax 504-827-0410.

And do give their great beers a sample.
